Tesla

Tesla reported a smaller-than-expected increase in third-quarter deliveries, with 462,890 vehicles sold, falling short of the anticipated 469,828. Despite price cuts and incentives, particularly in China, demand in the U.S. and Europe was weaker. This shortfall raised concerns about Tesla’s ability to meet its annual delivery targets, leading to a 6% drop in its stock. The company now faces significant pressure to deliver over 516,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter to avoid its first annual sales decline.

The EU Commission

The European Commission has asked YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok to provide detailed information on how their algorithms recommend content, specifically focusing on potential risks such as effects on elections, mental health, and the protection of minors. This request, made under the Digital Services Act (DSA), also includes inquiries into how these platforms prevent the spread of illegal content like drug promotion and hate speech. The platforms have until November 15 to respond, after which the Commission may take further steps, including potential fines for non-compliance.
