Top Stories Today

Elon Musk’s brain tech company Neuralink secured $650 million in new funding to expand its brain-computer interface technology, which enables paralyzed patients to control devices with their minds. The latest round, backed by investors including ARK Invest and Sequoia Capital, will support clinical trials and the development of future products connecting biological and artificial intelligence. Neuralink’s first device, called Telepathy, uses implanted threads to translate brain signals, with five patients already using the system. The company is also exploring potential applications like vision restoration through a separate FDA-designated device called Blindsight. Neuralink remains in early stages of development and commercialization.

Robinhood

Robinhood has completed its $200 million purchase of Bitstamp, securing one of the oldest cryptocurrency exchanges and accelerating its expansion into institutional markets. The acquisition provides Robinhood with an immediate global presence through over 50 active crypto licenses across Europe, the UK, and Asia, along with an established institutional client base. The deal marks a key step in Robinhood’s strategy to move beyond U.S. retail trading, offering institutional services such as crypto lending, staking, custody, and “crypto-as-a-service” products. Bitstamp, known for its compliance and deep liquidity, will remain operational under its current branding, with gradual integration planned. Robinhood’s leadership views this acquisition as a major boost toward building a diversified, international crypto business as the regulatory landscape evolves.
