Amazon
Amazon has pledged to channel £40 billion into its United Kingdom operations through 2028, funding the construction of four major order-processing hubs and modernizing its current site network. The initiative will also add new office space at its East London headquarters, enhance logistics routes nationwide and revamp the Bray Film Studios it acquired last year. London’s leadership welcomed the commitment, noting that it will generate thousands of roles, 2,000 each at its Hull and Northampton centers—and signal confidence in the government’s growth strategy despite recent economic headwinds. This move follows Amazon’s earlier £8 billion plan to expand AI computing capacity and comes amid broader tech-sector investment in Britain.
Nvidia
Nvidia’s founder and chief executive, Jensen Huang, recently offloaded 100,000 shares of company stock over two days, netting nearly $15 million at Tuesday’s opening price. This marks the first chunk of an approved plan to divest up to six million shares by the end of 2025, potentially worth $873 million at current valuations. Despite the sale, Huang still holds over 800 million shares and ranks among the world’s wealthiest individuals with a net worth near $126 billion. Last year he also sold roughly $700 million in stock under a similar arrangement. Nvidia’s share price has surged more than eightfold since late 2022, fueled by booming demand for its AI-focused GPUs, and continues to climb this year even as export restrictions threaten some overseas markets.
