McDonald’s
McDonald's is facing a health crisis as an E. coli outbreak linked to its Quarter Pounder hamburgers has resulted in 49 illnesses across 10 states, with one fatality in Colorado. The CDC reports that those affected had eaten at McDonald's before getting sick, with many specifically mentioning the Quarter Pounder. Investigators are focusing on slivered onions and fresh beef patties as possible sources of the contamination. McDonald's has removed these ingredients in the affected states and temporarily stopped selling the Quarter Pounder in certain areas as they work with suppliers to resolve the issue. The company's stock fell by about 6% after the news.

Anthropic
Anthropic, an AI company supported by Amazon, has introduced new technology allowing its AI agents to use computers to perform intricate tasks, similar to human users. This feature, part of latest AI models, enables the system to interact with software and navigate the internet. Early testers, such as Asana and Canva, have tried the tool, which can handle tasks like booking appointments or conducting research. Anthropic is competing with other AI firms, including OpenAI, in advancing AI beyond chatbots, aiming to create virtual collaborators for both enterprise and consumer use.
