Top Stories Today: Amazon and Hinge Health.

Top Stories Today
Amazon
Amazon investors voted against a proposal that would have required a permanent separation of the chief executive and board chair roles. Roughly 82% opposed the measure during the company’s annual meeting, where all eight independent proposals were rejected. The initiative, backed by a governance advocacy group, argued that formally dividing the roles would strengthen oversight. Amazon, which currently operates under a split structure, with Andy Jassy as CEO and Jeff Bezos as executive chair, defended its flexible approach, emphasizing that its leadership model should evolve based on the company’s needs.
Hinge Health
Hinge Health made a strong entrance on the New York Stock Exchange, with its shares jumping over 20% from the initial offering price on debut. The digital therapy provider raised approximately $273 million through the sale of new stock, with additional shares sold by current stakeholders. Valued at over $3 billion after closing, the company stands out in the largely inactive health-tech IPO space, offering a software-based approach to managing pain and recovery. Founded in 2014, Hinge attracted investor interest by emphasizing its automated care delivery model and rapid growth in digital rehabilitation.
