Bullish
Bullish, the crypto exchange backed by Peter Thiel and led by former NYSE president Tom Farley, has submitted regulatory paperwork to list shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol BLSH. In its prospectus the platform disclosed very large trading activity, reporting average daily volumes in the roughly $2.5–2.6 billion range and more than $1.25 trillion transacted since launch, figures that underscore its rapid growth. The company, which bought CoinDesk in 2023, is pitching itself as a serious institutional-grade venue and names major competitors and institutional backers in its filing, positioning the deal amid renewed investor appetite for crypto firms going public.
Chevron
Chevron has closed its $53 billion purchase of Hess after an international arbitration panel ruled in its favor in a contest with Exxon over offshore interests in Guyana. The decision removed the final obstacle to the deal, which gives Chevron access to the lucrative Guyana project where Hess holds a 30% interest (Exxon 45%, CNOOC 25%). Company leadership framed the outcome as a clear interpretation of contractual terms governing corporate transactions, and market moves were muted, Chevron shares slipped modestly after an early bump while Exxon shares fell more sharply. The combination removes a major source of uncertainty about the transaction and paves the way for integration; Chevron’s CEO also signaled the merger will lead to some workforce overlap and associated reductions as the businesses are combined.
