23andMe

Anne Wojcicki, who co-founded 23andMe and stepped down as CEO when the company entered bankruptcy in March, has successfully outbid Regeneron to reacquire nearly all of the genetic testing firm’s operations. Her newly formed nonprofit, TTAM Research Institute, offered $305 million for assets including the consumer DNA testing service, research unit, and telehealth arm Lemonaid Health, topping Regeneron’s earlier $256 million bid. The deal, pending approval by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Missouri, ensures Wojcicki can continue the company’s mission of making genomic information widely accessible, after 23andMe’s struggles to build a sustainable research business and privacy controversies.

Oracle

Oracle shares soared 24% for the week, their biggest weekly gain since 2001, after the company reported better-than-expected quarterly results and forecasted over $67 billion in revenue for the year ahead. Management highlighted booming demand for its cloud infrastructure, driven by customers running AI workloads, and said they’re ramping up data-center investments, with capital spending set to hit $25 billion next year. Key clients such as Meta, OpenAI, and xAI are already on board, and analysts have raised price targets amid the company’s rapid cloud growth.
