AMD

AMD introduced its next-generation Instinct MI400 AI accelerators, which can be combined into a unified “Helios” rack-scale system for seamless large-scale AI workloads. The company demonstrated how thousands of these chips will function as a single compute engine, rivaling Nvidia’s upcoming Vera Rubin racks. OpenAI’s Sam Altman confirmed his organization will deploy the MI400s. AMD emphasized that its new GPUs and the preceding MI355X offer lower operating costs and aggressive pricing compared to Nvidia’s offerings, aiming to win hyperscale cloud and AI model–training customers. The Helios design leverages open networking technology and integrations with AMD CPUs and Pensando networking chips to deliver high performance for both training and inference.

Chime

Chime’s stock soared 37% in its Nasdaq debut after pricing its initial offering at $27 per share, valuing the online bank at $11.6 billion and raising $700 million. The share sale included an additional $165 million from existing investors, pushing the closing price to $37.11 and boosting its market cap to $13.5 billion. Despite this strong start, Chime’s IPO valuation is well below its $25 billion private-market peak in 2021. The company reported $518.7 million in quarterly revenue (up 32% year-over-year) and narrowed its net loss to $12.9 million. CEO Chris Britt highlighted Chime’s focus on serving customers with incomes under $100,000, with 8.6 million active users and direct deposit adoption driving its interchange-fee-based model.
