The Biden administration is proposing new regulations to limit the use of the "de minimis" rule, which allows low-value shipments under $800 to enter the U.S. duty-free. Uber is expanding its partnership with Alphabet's Waymo to bring autonomous ride-hailing services to Austin, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia, in early 2024. This builds on their existing collaboration in Phoenix, Arizona, where Uber customers can already access Waymo's self-driving vehicles. Uber will manage a fleet of fully autonomous, electric Jaguar I-PACE vehicles as part of its broader strategy to integrate electric and self-driving cars into its ride-hailing network. The expansion comes amid regulatory scrutiny over the safety of self-driving technology.
